Topics that King discusses include the making and impact of her landmark 1971 solo album Tapestry, her abusive marriage to Rick Evers, her life on her Idaho ranch and why she was initially skeptical of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.Ĭarole King: Natural Woman also features new conversations with some of King's musical friends and collaborators, including James Taylor, the songwriting team of Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, Tapestry producer Lou Adler, her ex-manager Peter Asher, session musicians Russ Kunkel and Danny 'Kootch' Kortchmar and lyricists Toni Stern and Carole Bayer Sager. The documentary includes previously unseen performances and home movies, as well as a new interview with Carole.
